Supporting British Makers
Supporting independent British makers is a fundamental philosophy of our business. Working with British makers has enabled us to reduce our environmental footprint, whilst ensuring that we support other small businesses and our local economy. Since 2021, we have been focused on sourcing products from independent British makers whos talented hands craft high quality and unique homewares. From ceramicists and printmakers, to woodworkers and candlemakers, we’ve built strong relationships with talented makers across the country.
We’re working hard to maintain and expand the number of British made products in our collection by establishing new relationships with homegrown makers. As it stands, British makers are responsible for just over a quarter of all our products, but we’re sure there will be plenty more added in the near future. Below you can discover who are makers are and learn more about their origins, process and craft.

Candlemakers
Moorlands Candles
Ted Thompson and his family have been producing hand dipped beeswax candles in Britain since 1981. Their beautiful candles have a natural tapered shape and smell honey sweet. The family are true artisans and masters of their craft, each candle is produced using a counterbalanced circular metal carrousels on which braided cotton wicks are threaded around screws at the top and bottom. The wicks are dipped into molten natural beeswax a number of times allowing the candles to cool between dips. We’re proud to support this family of makers.
Woodworking
Creamore Mill
Established in 1981 by John Buckland, Creamore Mill is a family owned woodturning workshop located in rural Shropshire, England. Creamore Mill design and produce functional yet beautiful wooden products that every home needs. They consider the merits of any design to be in the function and longevity of the product and it is common for these alone to form the aesthetics and beauty of a product. Creamore Mill draw inspiration from traditional tools and implements, for it is the tried and tested routes that often give up the least resistance to purpose and success. All of the oak, beech and redwood that are used in the production of their products are sourced from UK sawmills.
